LaserBlade & LaserCubes provide the optimum desktop environment, saving valuable desktop space and providing a
quiet, highly secure, thick client or thin client solution. The users’ desktop monitors, keyboards, mice and USB
2.0 peripherals are connected to tiny LaserCube appliances that may be separated from the LaserBlade blade PCs
up to 400 meters using multimode cable to over 1 mile using single mode cable. LaserCubes support one to eight
monitors for each operator, as well as USB 2.0 devices, PCI adapters, and sound.
Ultra Secure
Data on the LaserBlades stays locked up in the data center. The hard drive storage devices on the LaserBlades
are physically inaccessible to the users, eliminating the possibility of tampering, loading viruses, and
stealing drives or memory. LaserCubes are offered with 4USB connections or no USB connections for sites
that prohibit USB devices at the desktop. Also, Trusted Platform Module (TPM) is embedded on many Laserblade models.
Space Savings
LaserCubes are as small as 2.5” x 4.0” x 9.0”, and can be mounted under or on the sides of the desks,
freeing up desktop space for other purposes.
Digital Graphics
One or more digital graphics adapters are installed in each LaserCube to support from one to eight monitors per desktop
Cool and quiet
LaserCubes use little power (as low as 45W) so they generate very little heat (unlike a desktop PC)
and have a tiny micro fan for almost noiseless operation.
Interchangeable
Designed for low cost, high density computing, up to 8 blade servers can be configured per LaserBlade enclosure.
Managed
LaserBlades are designed with multiple layers of CubixVision management that provide simple and secure navigation
to Cubix blade resources, detailed hardware monitoring, and remote hardware control such as power up / down
and hard reset function. Laserblades provide administrators with increased control and management of computer
resources by centralizing the blades in the data center or network operating center (NOC), thus reducing maintenance
and operating costs.
Serviceable
Front extracting LaserBlades feature easy-to-access front accessible connections. Two SATA hard drives are
supported per blade PC. Hot pluggable drives configured for RAID are an option. Drives are mounted on trays that
can be removed from the rear of the blade. For easier serviceability, to remove or add a drive, the blade and its
front accessible cables can remain in place.
Flexible
Both Windows and Linux operating systems are supported.
