ToughBlades
Cubix’s heavy-duty, rugged ToughBlade enclosure supports blade PC servers designed for travel in mobile deployments for military applications, tradeshows, corporate presentations, traveling classrooms, emergency vehicles, etc. ToughBlades enclosures are also used in harsh environmental conditions such as on shipboard, oil platforms, and in tactical wheeled vehicles. The hardened ToughBlade enclosure features numerous ceiling, floor and frontface stiffening bars that protect Intel-based Core 2 Duo and/or Dual Core Xeon LaserBlades within. Heavy gauge steel is reinforced with lock-tight screws to create a rigidity designed to withstand bumps and jolts in shipping and transport. High density, LaserBlades can be mounted in shock-resistant traveling rack cases for rapid deployment. Up to 8 blades fit into one ToughBlade enclosure. LaserBlades are front-removable with front accessible I/O connections and quick-release drive trays that can be removed independently without removing the LaserBlade from the enclosure or opening the blade case. As an added option to optimize lightning fast desktop deployments, LaserBlades feature a remote desktop extension option using LaserCubes. This option lets you place small desktop appliances to connect keyboards, mice and monitors wherever the users are, connected by multimode fiber cables to the LaserBlades in the traveling rack case. The LaserBlades can stay in place in the mobile vehicle, connected to the network switches and communications devices. Users can be as far as 400 meters from the ToughBlade enclosure. Network set up and tear down can thus take place in minutes. For Core2 Duo and Dual Core Xeon blade specifications, please see LaserBlade specifications |
