Added SNMP management Added Serial console support for Headless Operation External Power and Reset: This feature is used by the Avocent Digital Desktop product to enable the C/L-Station to power on/off/reset the blade remotely. Having this feature enabled does not effect the normal operation of the CMC if Avocent Digital Desktops are not used. CMC Blade event history: A blade history Tab has been added to the Blade View. Enclosure Fan failures (BladeStation only) Enclosure Power supply failures (BladeStation only) Once the CMC history log has been completely downloaded a clear log button will be displayed at the top of the Hisory log. Under the Configure tab of CV there is an option to set the level of CMC event to display, from Everything to None. SNMP Management: This release of the CMC app as limited SNMP management capabilities. The CMC.MIB file can be downloaded from the CMC module by opening your web browser and using the following URL: HTTP://cmcipaddr/CMC.MIB Where cmcipaddr is the IP address of the CMC. This URL will display the standard IE file down load dialog, asking if you want to open or save the file. Save this file and compile it using you SNMP management application. The SNMP management allows you to monitor blade and enclosure health, as well as power on/off and reset the blades. Serial Console Support: This feature allows you to use the a Cubix BladeServer in headless operation. This will allow you to enter CMOS Setup to change BIOS settings remotely, and will allow access to 3rd party BIOSs such as RAID controllers, provided their BIOS is standard ASCII text. The console app can emulate a VT-UTF8 or VT100 serial console. The default is VT-UTF8. The serial console baud rate is set under the Configure tab of the CV console. The default setting is 9600 Kbps. The port setting is the TCP port the console app will receive redirected serial output from. The default is 43000. Note: Depending on the blade, the default serial baud rate set in the BIOS for serial console redirection will be either 19200 or 9600. On the 714X blades it is 19200 on the 733X blades it is 9600. Either the BIOS or the CV Configure tab option must be set to match the other. In the BIOS, be sure to set both the baud rate in the Remote Console option under the Advanced menu and the Remote access setting under the Advanced/ACPI/Advanced ACPI Configuration.
